This project was based on Formula One, the highest class of international racing but evolved to focus on a very specific aspect of the sport.
I focused on the visual language and representation of speed, the characteristics of what makes an object look fast or slow. I tried to replicate this in a set of 3 posters and 3 bespoke pieces of street-ware clothing. i designed a hoodie, jersey and athletic shorts inspired by the sport of basketball giving it a design that i felt invoked the qualities of an objects moving at a accelerated pace which i believe reflected the thrill of the game and the liveliness of urban culture
I created these posters using an AI art generating web browser platform which I was introduced to roughly a year ago by peers and the work AI can produce always seems to surprising me with the boundaries it is able to push. To produce the clothes I used Printful, a on-demand printing and fulfilment company to layout my designs on the separate elements of the garments.
